Matt Collins is the Founder & CEO of Samurai Kickboxing (& The Samurai Fitness Group Ltd), created 14 years ago due to his 4 year old nephew’s desire to learn kickboxing. His friends got involved & the classes literally grew from there.
As we’ve expanded we’ve always kept Samurai Kickboxing as a family affair & it remains so as Matt's sister Paula is the Managing Director.
Our team consists of 9 full-time, truly brilliant Instructors & our Office Manager, Polly.
As children progress through our syllabus, they can take a Grading to receive their 1st or next belt. Gradings are a regular feature of kickboxing but are completely optional.
Only once students are older or more experienced kickboxers do we start to include light pad work & sparring.
We incorporate anti-bullying techniques into our Kickboxing classes & also run sessions for schools, particularly for children transitioning from Year 6 in Primary School to Year 7 in Secondary School.
We have holiday camps every school holiday for children age 4-12. They learn kickboxing techniques through fun games & may even take their 1st Grading. It's no wonder they come back again & again!
Every year, we have an Annual Tournament in the UK & Jersey for all students across the organisation, to give them a taste of competitive martial arts in a fun & safe environment.
“I CAN TELL THAT YOU GUYS HAVE A GIFT. WITNESSING THE WAY YOU ENGAGE WITH & ENCOURAGE THE GROUP, MAKING SURE EVERYONE GETS THE LEVEL OF ATTENTION THEY DESERVE, IS HEARTWARMING.”
