HOW GRADINGS WORK.

As students progress through the Samurai Kickboxing syllabus for their age group, they work towards their next belt. The Grading route depends on the student's age group and current belt level.

Gradings happen every term.

Gradings are not compulsory.
Students do not have to be formally graded (therefore do not require the Samurai Kickboxing suit & pay for the belt & certificate). They can continue to work though the syllabus without being formally recognised.

BELT ORDER.

The belt order is the same for each age group:

• White
• Red
• Yellow
• Orange
• Green
• Purple
• Blue
• Brown
• Brown & White
• Brown & Black
• Black
  Black 1st Degree etc

LITTLE SAMURAI.

- Age 4 to Year 2. 
- Belts are called Tags. 
- A Samurai Kickboxing branded suit is required from Red Tag in order to grade & sparring equipment is required from Brown Tag to grade. 
- In-class Gradings are termly for everyone up to Brown Tag.
- Public Gradings are for Brown & White Tags & above - they can take part in the in-class Grading as a practise for their Public Grading.

YOUNG SAMURAI.

- Years 3 to 6.
- Belts are called Stripes.
- A Samurai Kickboxing branded suit is required from Red Stripe to grade & sparring equipment is required from Orange Stripe to grade.
- In-class Gradings are termly for everyone up to Orange Stripe.
- Public gradings are for Green Stripes & above - they can take part in the in-class Grading as a practise for their Public Grading.

SAMURAI KICKBOXERS & ADULTS.

- Year 7 & above.
- Belts are called Colours.
- A Samurai Kickboxing branded suit is required from Red Colour to grade & sparring equipment is required from Red Colour to grade.
- Gradings are Public Gradings only.

Where several levels share the same price, they are grouped together for clarity.
