 WHAT IS A GRADING?

Gradings are tests we have every half-term & in our holiday camps to earn belts. Parents will be notified by email when their child is ready to grade.

The belt system is at the heart of Kickboxing & provides a focus on self-confidence, perseverance, focus & respectEarning a belt brings children a sense of satisfaction & self-fulfilment, building their confidence & self-esteem along the way.

Gradings are not compulsory & students can still progress through the same kickboxing syllabus if they choose not to Grade.

Lower grade belts have their Gradings in their regular Kickboxing class:

Little Samurai (age 4 - Year 2) - up to & including Brown Tags
Young Samurai (Years 3 - 6) - up to & including Orange Stripes

Higher grade belts are required to attend a public venue at the weekend to allow for the Grading taking more time:

Little Samurai - Brown & White Tags & above
Young Samurai - Green Stripes & above
Samurai Kickboxers - all

Your child’s Annual License is included in the Kickboxing class fee & is for student insurance & to register with our governing body:
British Martial Arts & Boxing Association (BMABA)

BMABA validate Gradings, instil industry standards & act as an ombudsman in issues such as Safeguarding & Health & Safety.

Gradings are taken at the belt in which the student currently resides:
