"A HUGE THANK YOU FOR YOUR AFTER-SCHOOL CLASSES & SUCH A WELCOMING & ENCOURAGING START TO KICKBOXING. MY SON ABSOLUTELY LOVES HIS SESSIONS. HE WAS SO INCREDIBLY PROUD TO ACHIEVE HIS RED BELT."
The belt system is at the heart of kickboxing & provides a focus on moving up the ranks.
Gradings are tests we have every couple of months to earn belts. Earning a belt brings a sense of satisfaction & self-fulfilment, building a child's confidence & self-esteem along the way.
Gradings are not compulsory & students can still progress through the same kickboxing syllabus if they choose not to Grade.
Your child’s Annual License is included in the class fee & is for student insurance & to register with our governing body, British Martial Arts & Boxing Association (BMABA). BMABA validate gradings, instil industry standards & act as an ombudsman in issues such as Safeguarding & Health & Safety.
We postpone the costs involved with Kickboxing until the student knows if it's right for them. A kickboxing suit is therefore not required until the 2nd Grading (Red to Yellow belt).
IS MY CHILD READY TO GRADE?
In the different age groups, belts are called;
Tags - Little Samurai (age 4 - Year 2)
Stripes - Young Samurai (Years 3 - 6)
Colours - Samurai Kickboxers (Years 7+)
Gradings are taken at the belt in which the student currently resides e.g. the student has just started kickboxing & this is their 1st Grading, they will attend a WHITE belt Grading (to earn a RED belt).
The student is currently a RED belt, they will attend a RED belt Grading (to earn a YELLOW belt).
