SPARRING.
BRITISH TAEKWONDO FIGHTER, LUTALO MUHAMMAD, RIO 2016 SILVER MEDALIST
Sparring is all about control. We want our students to control their behaviour & their power when Sparring. |
|
To start, students spar using only their hands against the trunk of their opponent (below the head & above the groin), using light, quick touches. This helps increase their confidence that they're not going to get hurt or hurt their opponent. Next, we introduce light kicks to the trunk until enough control is developed. |
