EVENT OF THE YEAR!
A day of excitement, friendly competition and celebration of what students have learned during their time at Samurai Kickboxing!
We have a Kickboxing Tournament every year in Jersey & the UK & we encourage all of our students to attend regardless of age or experience so they can experience the competitive side of Kickboxing & meet other students from across the organisation.
It's a fantastic opportunity for parents to see what their children have been learning too!
Whether your child has only had one lesson or been attending for years, they can compete for a Bronze, Silver or Gold medal in the categories listed below, against students of the same age & ability.
Children practise for the Tournament in their regular Kickboxing class, so they know exactly what to expect.
We recommend that students participate in multiple categories regardless of experience - they will find it incredibly rewarding & it will build their confidence.
Our Instructors will do a 10 minute demonstration of their Kickboxing skills too so you can see just how good they are!
Our Samurai shop will be available as well as refreshments.

CATEGORIES.
|
HIGH KICK
Kick against a measure to see who can get the highest kick in their
age & height category.
POWER TECHNIQUE
Break a board with a hand or foot technique. The person who breaks a board that no one else can, wins!
SEQUENCE
Perform techniques from the belt below their grade. The student who has the most power, flow & technical accuracy wins.
SPARRING
Only for:
Little Samurai - Brown & White Tags & above
Young Samurai - Green Stripes & above
Samurai Kickboxers - All
Students score points against each other by delivering controlled kicks & punches against target areas on their opponent. The student with the most points at the end of the contest wins.
Students must have their own sparring equipment approved by Samurai Kickboxing & which can be purchased from our online shop.
For health reasons, sparring equipment may not be shared among students.

STUDENT OF THE YEAR - a student who has consistently demonstrated a high standard of technical ability as well as the positive behaviour traits required to become an elite martial artist.
NICK METCALFE AWARD - a student who is respectful, determined, passionate & dedicated. Technical kickboxing ability is also important which is why the Nick Metcalfe Award is presented to a great all-round martial artist - just like Nick who tragically died in a car crash & was a fellow martial artist & friend of Matt's (Owner & Chief Instructor).
